Becoming Legit

This morning, I decided that it was time for my blog and me to take our relationship to the next level. Sure, we have a few loyal readers (hi, mom), some comments, and 100 hits in one day (!), but I thought it might be time for this relationship to get serious. I registered my very own domain. The savvy reader will notice that you are now at www.DrRachelRuns.com.

I decided it was time to take the next step with my blog because I wanted to make my blog a bit more professional. More legit, if you will. Starting this little blog has been a process. First, I read articles about how to start a blog. I carefully researched various hosts for my blog. I read other blogs, as many other running blogs as I could find, to get a sense of what people will read and what types of content generate comments. I wrote a few posts. I added some pages. I wrote some more posts and got my first comment (yay!). As I got more involved, I kept thinking that starting this blog is like starting a relationship.  And it’s time we got serious – by getting my blog its very own domain. It looks so nice up there at the top of the page.

I think it’s the first step in being a blog people read. I’m working my way through the Top 100 Running Blogs of 2012, getting inspiration, and thinking of ways I can grow this humble little site.

So, I ask you, loyal readers, what type of content would you like to see? What will get you coming back day after day to read this blog?

  1. I am subscribed through Google Reader. Will I still get the feed? I guess time will tell!
