Last week I headed to my local Lululemon store (my favorite store) to get some new winter running tights. Among my finds were a pair of Run: Your Heart Out Tights in coal/white heather blurred grey classic stripe.
I immediately loved the ruffle on the calf – it’s such a cute detail. The ruffle lines up right on the back of the calf, laying mostly flat, so it has a subtle, feminine look.
The sizing was exactly the same as the other Lululemon tights in the Run line. I wore them for their first run (6 miles, 40 degrees and sunny) and loved them.
First, they have the usual hidden pockets in the waistband, but they also have a sizable secure zipper pocket in the center back.
I love anything with a secure pocket because I have recurring mid-run fantasies about losing my car key. The zipper pocket ensured that my key stayed with me, and off my mind. I was initially a little skeptical about the “hight rise”. These tights are definitely higher waisted than the line’s Wonder Unders, but not high-high rise. I have a very short torso and found the rise to be just right. It kept my lower belly warm and stayed put throughout the run. Even more exciting, the waistband didn’t ride up or fall down. The power luxtreme fabric kept me warm while wicking away sweat. I was pleasantly surprised by how warm the Run: Your Heart Out Tights were. I tend to be cold pretty much all the time; these tights left me feeling not too hot or too cold, but just right. The fabric has a smooth texture that feels great on the run. It stretched nicely and I felt like I had a good range of motion in my hips and knees without any problems with slouching or shifting. Quite possibly the best feature of these tights is the length. At 5’7″, I perpetually have 3 inches of calf exposed (and freezing cold) at the bottom of tights. The Run: Your Heart Out Tights feature a lengthy 30″ inseam, perfect for this tall girl. My whole leg was warm, dry, and cozy in these tights.
All things considered, the tights performed well and have cute, girly accents. What’s not to love?
