I’ve been struggling lately in my training lately. First it was travel, then a busy time at work, then drama at work, then the worst house guests of all time. It’s been hard to get back into a routine – and I do best when my training can be organized into some sort of set schedule. This week, in an effort to get back on track, I got back on the trail. I ran a nice, easy trail run with my Running Friend. I even wore my heart rate monitor (which I have been slacking on lately).
It was a calm day at the lake.
We ran along a trail that we don’t run on that often. It goes around a small bog/swamp/beaver pond area. We saw that the beaver had been busy.
It was the perfect day for a run – gorgeous weather with just the hint of spring in the air. It was peaceful and calm in the woods. The skies were blue, the birds were chirping. It felt good to run and I’m hoping it’s the first of many good runs as I get back on track.
